By Our Law

John 19:6 When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him.

John 19:7 The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die

, because he made himself the Son of God.
(Where is any law saying that if you make yourself the Son of God, you must die?) I know of none.

Notice who said this. The Jews. Their chief priests cried, crucify him. The Jews said, We have a LAW, and by our LAW Jesus ought to DIE.

What law were they speaking of? Breaking the Sabbath. They had accused him several times of breaking their Sabbath. So now, they use this LAW, of Sabbath keeping, to have Jesus killed, according to their law. He broke their Sabbath, so he needs to be killed. (They had no other they could have used. They could not accuse him of breaking any other law. He had fulfilled it ALL.)

But, was this the end of that Sabbath law destroying the Lord? No, it was only the beginning. Watch:

Heb 6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

Heb 6:2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and ofeternal judgment.

Heb 6:3 And this will we do, if God permit.

Heb 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

Heb 6:5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

Heb 6:6 If they shall fall away

, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

Hebrews six, is clearly speaking here about NT salvation. It speaks of the foundation of REPENTANCE, (not part of law)–; faith, (law is not of faith);–Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. NONE of these things were of LAW, but of the NT salvation. So, this is clearly speaking of those who have come into NT times.

Heb 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, Heb 6:5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

There was no true enlightenment under that old law, for it blinds those who ‘read’ it, or hear it to live by it. They were never enlightened, nor did they ever taste the heavenly GIFT, for this GIFT is the Baptism of the Holy Ghost, which was NEVER given to those under that old law. Neither did they ever taste the good Word of God or the powers of the world to come. So this is clearly speaking of those who came into the NT salvation. Watch now, what it says about these people who had done all of the above, which clearly could not be speaking about those under law, but those under Grace:

For it is impossible for these people, Heb 6:6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

What is meant by, if they shall FALL AWAY? Let Paul answer this:

Gal 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free

, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. (Paul is calling the NT this liberty and in this Christ hath made us FREE. He tells them not to be entangled AGAIN with the YOKE OF BONDAGE. Peter clearly calls the law this bondage, in Acts 15; no guess work about this!)
Ga 5:2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. (Those telling the early Church they had to go back and keep the law of Moses, always linked it with this need to be circumcised, for this is the sign of LAW.)

Ga 5:3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. (Notice, here, how Paul makes this unmistakably clear that he is tying being circumcised with the need to keep the whole law! Again, no guess work, here.)

Ga 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace

. (So, there you have the meaning of ‘if they shall FALL AWAY’. If you think you must go back to keeping law, and being circumcised, then you FALL– AWAY– FROM–GRACE. And the result of this falling away, is that Christ is become of NO EFFECT unto you. You are thus lost. And according to Hebrews six, there is not hope of ever renewing you again to repentance. Why? Because by your LAW, YOU CRUCIFIED CHRIST AFRESH AND ANEW AND PUT HIM TO AN OPEN SHAME! That is exactly what your claiming you must needs go back to law, and keep some weekly Sabbath does to Christ, and to your own soul! And this is what is meant by the great falling away—so many denying Grace and going back to law.)

Ga 5:5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. (It is the Spirit, or the NT salvation, Holy Ghost, which gives us righteousness, by FAITH. THE LAW IS NOT OF FAITH. Again, no guess work!)

Ga 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love. (In Christ, this law thing avails NOTHING. Only FAITH which works by love. Law is not of Faith, and shows no love. Again, no guess work!)

Ga 5:7 Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth? (These people started out well and ran well for a while. Who hindered them? And how were they HINDERED? By those who told them they had to go back to keeping that law of Moses, (Sabbath keeping), and to be circumcised. So this hindered these Christians in their walk with Christ. It made them guilty of CRUCIFYING Jesus all over again. WE HAVE A LAW. AND BY OUR LAW, HE OUGHT TO DIE. He broke their Sabbath!

Ga 5:8 This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you. (Paul tells them here that it is not of him or of Jesus, that they are led astray and hindered and deceived back into picking up that law again.)

Ga 5:9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump. (Here Paul is saying that this little LEAVEN is their going back to law. That is the entire subject matter here. So going back to that law, by which Jesus had to die, breaking their Sabbath, is this leaven which has leavened their whole lump! Again, no guess work!)

So, by your going back to the law of Moses, written and engraven on stone, you do crucify Jesus Christ afresh and put him to an open shame. So says these Scriptures!

When Jesus was on the earth the Pharisees & Scribes accused Jesus of transgressing the His Father’s commandments. You and I know that is NOT true. Jesus never sinned!!!  The Pharisees & Scribes were accusing Jesus FALSELY!.  Why?? because Jesus DID NOT BREAK ANY OF THE COMMANDMENTS.

Me:  Sure, Jesus never sinned, because working on the seventh day was NOT SIN.  He was not living by that old law.  He lived Grace.  Grace and TRUTH came by Jesus Christ.
Jesus knew that the Baptism of the Holy Ghost is the one and ONLY REST OF GOD,  THE REST TO THE SOUL.  So he worked on THEIRsabbath,  but he was keeping,  HOLY,  the real SABBATH,  THAT OF A PERFECT LIFE  EVERY SINGLE DAY.

That is the only SABBATH KEEPING which GOD WILL RECOGINZE.  YOUR SILLY THING OF GOING TO CHURCH ON SATURDAY, AND CALLING THIS SABBATH KEEPING,  IS AN ABOMINATION TO GOD.
It is doing despite to the true Sabbath,  the spirit of GRACE.  There is no REST UNDER THAT LAW.  Only in Grace is REST TO THE WEARY.

And you cannot be in Grace , trying to live under that law, written on stone.  Paul said if you go back to that,  YOU FALL FROM GRACE.

you obviously do not believe the Word of God.  All you believe in this silly adventist JUNK.

    delete reply

Since none of the ‘sabbath keepers’ will search the Scripture and find out how God said to do this thing and tell us,  I have done some searching myself, and will now tell them.

I tell you all, you had better stop listening to man and see what God says about this matter.  You are very wrong to think that you are the ones who had this covenant put to you, and that now you can just go about doing it to suit yourself, or rather, to suit your ‘church’ of false teacher.

If you feel that you are bound to do this ‘sabbath’ thing, you are certainly required to do it as commanded by God, and given through MOSES, NOT SOME PHARISEES.

Here is the things I found in Exodus alone.  Will give the other books next.  but just see how many times God told them, in this one Book,  YOU BETTER NOT DO ANY WORK AT ALL ON THIS DAY.  Yet they do not seem to know how to keep this day ‘holy’.

Well, they will have to answer to God for not studying His Word and obeying it as given.

Here is what was said in Exodus:

Ex 12:18 In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even.
Ex 12:19 Seven days shall there be no leaven found in your houses: for whosoever eateth that which is leavened, even that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a stranger, or born in the land
Eating leven shows those in the NT who think they must go back to this law and keep it as such.  that is leven which levens their whole lump, for they do deny the NT Rest, given to us by Jesus Christ, and for which we did not labour.
Ex 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Ex 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: Ex 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
Ex 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Ex 23:11 But the seventh year thou shalt let it rest and lie still; that the poor of thy people may eat: and what they leave the beasts of the field shall eat. In like manner thou shalt deal with thy vineyard, and with thy oliveyard.
Ex 23:12 Six days thou shalt do thy work, and on the seventh day thou shalt rest:that thine ox and thine ass may rest, and the son of thy handmaid, and the stranger, may be refreshed.
Ex 31:13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.
Ex 31:14 Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death:for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
Ex 31:15 Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.
Ex 31:16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. Ex 31:17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.
Ex 34:21 Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest: in earing time and in harvest thou shalt rest.
Ex 35:2 Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death.
Ex 35:3 Ye shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations upon the sabbath day.

Here is what I found in Leviticus:

Le 23:3 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.
Le 23:7 In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. Le 23:8 But ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD seven days: in the seventh day is an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein
Le 23:22 And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not make clean riddance of the corners of thy field when thou reapest, neither shalt thou gather any gleaning of thy harvest: thou shalt leave them unto the poor, and to the stranger: I am the LORD your God
Le 23:24 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.
Le 23:25 Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.
Le 23:26 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Le 23:27 Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.
Le 23:28 And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the LORD your God.
Le 23:29 For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people.
Le 23:30 And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people.
Le 23:31 Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
Le 23:32 It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.
Le 23:33 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Le 23:34 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the LORD.
Le 23:35 On the first day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.
Le 23:36 Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein.
Le 23:37 These are the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, every thing upon his day:
Le 23:38 Beside the sabbaths of the LORD, and beside your gifts, and beside all your vows, and beside all your freewill offerings, which ye give unto the LORD.
Le 23:39 Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath.
    ****************
Now you can discount all of this, if you wish,  and try to put it off on the old Pharisses,  but I am telling you, this is not Pharisees,  It is God telling Moses what to tell YOU, if you are one of these people.
If you put yourself back under this, and thus reject the freedom from this, given to US by Jesus,  then be it known to you, that someday,  God will judge you by these very words,  and destroy you WITHOUT MERCY.
See, that there was NO MERCY UNDER THIS LAW?  kILL,  DESTROY THEM WITHOUT MERCY, JUST FOR PICKING UP STICKS, OR STARTING A FIRE ON THAT SABBATH DAY.
dOES NOT sound like my God of mercy to me.  Sounds like an angry God who is dishing out punishment to those rebellious, idol worshippers.
And YOU  want to go there?

    No me, says,  Jo

See, that God now shows everyone that all those OT things impossed on them, their sabbaths, new moons, etc.  were anABOMINATION to Him.  This means that God HATED THOSE THINGS.  and yet you all want them so much!  You are rejecting Jesus Christ and his sacrifice for us.  This is why God hated this stuff,  those old people were ALSO REJECTING THE SACRIFICE OF JESUS….that is why these things were imposed upon them.

Again, Your premise is all wrong. Look closely at what God said in that verse.  God said he hated what??? HIS COMMANDMENTS???  No Freeborn..He did NOT.  What God said there was that He hated…THEIR sabbaths, new moons, etc.   THEIR….THEIR.   NOT HIS.

Israel would rebel so many times. Everytime we read about ancient Israels calamities it was because they had REBELLED, DISOBEYED. That is the lesson to be learned.  When Israel was ruled by an OBEDIENT king who enforced God’s laws, Israel was blessed.

How many times do we read about Israel adopting idol worship and Sabbath breaking??? It was  then that God was angry..NOT when they were obedient to HIS LAWS.

You keep saying that if a person wants to obey the 4th Commandment..that they are suppose to do NOTHING.  Well, Jesus healed on the Sabbath day did He not? He did what was “good” on the Sabbath day. You even said, that Jesus worked on the Sabbath. I have to agree. Doing good is doing “good works”.  That is NOT doing NOTHING.

So, why would it be a sin Freeborn to go to church on the Sabbath day? Isn’t that doing something “Good”??? Studying God’s Word, being fed spiritual by the church, singing hymns to God…Worshipping God on the Sabbath is doing GOOD.

Yes we can do all those things in our own home, but God tells us not to forsake coming together as an assembly.

Hbr 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some [is]; but exhorting [one another]: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Why would it be a sin  Freeborn to come together on God’s Sabbath day in a Church?  You keep focusing on the OT bringing up animal sacrifices, rituals and ceremonies when all those things are not required of the Church today. Why?? Well, because Jesus was the lamb of God who was sacrificed once and for all. What does that have to do with God’s Ten commandments?  All TEN of them???

When Jesus and His disciples…and …..also the early Church kept God’s Sabbath Day, They did what was good, They went to the synagogue’s to hear the word of God preached.Act 13:44 Andthe next sabbath day came almost the whole city togetherto hear the word of God.

You are accusing people of trampling all over God’s Sabbath, while you yourself are rejecting it saying believers don’t have to acknowledge it anymore. Jesus didn’t come to destroy the law or the prophets.  He came to “fulfill” !

Mat 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

Look up the meaning of the word “Fufill” in the concordance..it will tell you that in the Greek it means to ..”Bring out the true meaning”…”to magnify”.  And you know something??? That’s exactly what the Messiah did.  He came to make the law more honorable just like it was prophecied in Isaiah 24:

Isa 42:21 The LORD is well pleased for his righteousness’ sake; he will magnify the law, and make [it] honourable..

Believing in the 4th Commandment is not rejecting Jesus’ sacrifice. That’s not scriptural.
